What Electronics Can You Recycle? A Complete Guide

One of the most common questions we get is: what can I actually bring in? The short answer is almost anything with a plug or a battery. But here's the full list so you know exactly what to expect.

Computers and laptops are the most common items we see. Desktops, towers, all-in-ones, Chromebooks, MacBooks, old Windows machines from 2005. We take them all regardless of age or condition. Working or not, it doesn't matter.

Monitors and TVs are accepted too. Flat screens, CRTs, LED, LCD. Just bring them in. Same goes for printers, scanners, copiers, and fax machines. Yes, people still have fax machines.

Servers and networking equipment are a big one for businesses. Rack servers, switches, routers, UPS battery backups, patch panels, cables. If it came out of a server room, we'll take it.

Cell phones, tablets, and small electronics are easy drop-offs. Old iPhones, Android phones, iPads, Kindles, GPS devices, calculators, remote controls. Toss them in.

Cables and accessories add up fast. Power cords, USB cables, HDMI cables, chargers, adapters, keyboards, mice, webcams, headphones, speakers. Don't throw these in the trash. Bring them to us.

Hard drives and storage devices get special treatment. We destroy all data-bearing devices through logical wiping and physical shredding. This includes hard drives, SSDs, USB drives, SD cards, and backup tapes. If you need a Certificate of Destruction, just follow the sticker process at our drop-off locations.

Business equipment we commonly pick up includes copiers, phone systems, projectors, point-of-sale terminals, and barcode scanners. If your office is doing a cleanout, give us a call and we'll schedule a free pickup.

What we don't accept: household appliances like refrigerators, washing machines, microwaves, or air conditioners. We also can't take batteries on their own (car batteries, loose lithium batteries), light bulbs, or anything with Freon. For these items, check with your local waste management.

The easiest way to recycle is to use one of our drop-off locations. They're open 7 days a week, 7AM to 9PM, and no appointment is needed. For larger loads over 10-15 items, call us at 1-888-992-9772 and we'll come to you for free.
